NAMI Four Seasons Education & General Meeting Saturday, September 15th at 10:15 a.m. at Pardee Educational Center in Blue Ridge Mall. The education program begins at 11 a.m. with Emily Ball, Director of Community Engagement of Homeward Bound of Asheville, speaking about “Housing First” a successful program for the chronically homeless , of particular interest for us in Hendersonville, as we work to create the same program with the Hendersonville Homeless Coalition. All parties interested in this subject are encouraged to attend.

Family to Family program starting September 10th thru October 17th 12 sessions Monday and Wednesday evenings 6:00-8:30pm. A life changing course for family members includes ways to understand the illness and how to help the person who has the illness. It also helps the family overcome the difficulties of living with severe mental illness. Call 1-888-955-6264 or e-mail .

Our first NAMI Four Seasons Sponsored Mental Health First Aid class is scheduled for November 5th and 6th at the Blue Ridge Community Health Center, this course is appropriate for professionals who come into frequent contact with those living with mental illness but have no formal mental health training. Class size is limited to 30, registration is required. Please call 1-888-955-6264 for registration forms and more information.


October will be our first full issue of NEWS FOR ALL SEASONS newsletter, this will be published 3 times yearly October, February and May. Deadline for submissions September 14th 2012 – Please E-mail Information to Kathleen Cameron

NAMI Western Carolina Asheville

In the heart of downtown Asheville, on the stage of Roger McGuire Green and Reuter Terrace.

October 2nd
Interfaith Assistance Ministry (IAM)
Annual fundraiser, “A Taste of Hendersonville”, will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, in the Blue Ridge Conference Hall, located at Blue Ridge Community College. It’s a wonderful event with 20 Hendersonville restaurants providing samples of their unique cuisine along with live music and a wonderful silent auction with specialty items donated by local businesses, artists and individuals.

Tickets are $40 and are currently on sale at Interfaith Assistance Ministry, 210 Ehringhaus Street & 3rd Avenue West. Call 697-7029 ext. 334 for more information. Tickets must be purchased in advance. They will not be sold at the door. There are very few tickets left, so act quickly!
